Understanding What is Sustainability

Problems that destroy nature are still present today. The most common are deforestation, pollution of rivers and air, fire, and many others. But beyond these problems, there are others as dangerous as, as some vessels that cause many problems for spills of substances harmful to their nature, destroying the entire ecosystem of a region, spreading to other areas, killing marine mammals and fish, collaborating with the extinction of species, and undermine the work of fishermen and people’s health. Even receiving heavy fines, the problem caused harms and deep defiles nature, so it is difficult and time consuming to remove it.

This is just one of the examples of environmental pollution compromises the lives of human beings, their environment and the earth in general. So there is a great need to accelerate ecological awareness in homes, schools, businesses and the community as a whole, building an environmental culture solidified.

Today, consumers observe, and prefer to choose products from brands that adopt some care environment. Sustainability has become a concern for everyone: consumers, scholars and entrepreneurs. The challenge is to increasingly align economic growth and preservation of nature.

Paper industries, for example, using the cellulose must engage with nature and society, making the replanting of trees, ie, for each tree used in your business another tree shall be planted in place.

Environmental education and sustainable development aims to create environmental awareness in every person, changing their behavior regarding environmental protection. Families and schools should introduce education to preservation of nature together, causing the child to understand the importance of sustainability and learn to take care of nature with simple actions into your routine.

The example of parents at home and teachers in classroom activities and attitudes regarding conservation is essential, as reflected in the lives of children. There is no teaching more effective than a good example. With activities, reading, research, school work and discussions, students will understand and be aware about the issues that affect their community, understanding that respect for ecology is a way out, a solution to their neighborhood and the world, because nature is heritage of the planet and everyone’s responsibility.

Stimulation of attitudes of environmental conservation and respect for nature will transform each student a conscious citizen and truly committed to the future. All this can start at home with simple actions, such as separating organic waste from recyclables. Do not throw trash in the streets and anywhere else other than the waste basket. As these are small changes that can make all the difference.
